Indoor Rock Climbing Course for Beginners

Join these indoor climbing classes and get in touch with your innate ability to climb! Indoor rock climbing is a dynamic sport, a unique combination of the physical and the mental. This is a fun and exciting rock climbing course for beginners, where you will be introduced to all the safety knowledge required for climbing. During these Indoor rock climbing lessons in Sydney, you will be shown strategies to improve, guide and advance your climbing abilities. With options available at the St. Peters climbing gym, and the University of Sydney gym, there are classes for you that will not be only fun, but convenient!
This introductory course could lead you to outdoor rock climbing or a new way to work out and meet people.
You have the option of choosing from two venues:
- Sydney Indoor Climbing Gym in St Peters
- The Ledge Climbing Centre at the University of Sydney in Camperdown
The enrolment price covers your harness, climbing shoes and centre entry. You are entitled to unlimited climbing after the class.

Learning outcomes
By the end of this indoor rock climbing course, you should be able to:
- Warm-up and stretch correctly
- Perform various safe climbing skills and techniques
- Apply safe climbing skills and techniques in climbing exercises.
Course content
What will be covered in this indoor rock climbing course?
During this indoor rock climbing course, the intention is that the following topics will be covered, but not necessarily in the order given.
- Perform warm-up and stretching exercises
- Learn the various safe climbing techniques - eg. slab, traversing, bouldering, steep climbing
- Practice the safe climbing techniques

This course is for beginners or those who want to brush up on the basics.

- Participants must be 18 years or over
- Please wear track pants or shorts and a T-shirt
