Course description

Learn how to create wire portraits with our sculpture short courses in Sydney!

Some say drawing is simply 'taking a line for a walk'. With this drawing with wire sculpture workshop, you take the line off the page to create striking, shadow-casting wire sculptures. In the workshop, you will learn continuous line-sketching techniques to capture the essential features of a face, animal, or object, and then explore how a continuous line can be replicated in wire to become a three-dimensional sculpture.

In this workshop, you'll learn how to create continuous line designs with wire, explore sculptural form and incorporate multiple planes into your projects. The experienced tutor guide you in selecting the right wire and gauge for your work, and teach you the essential techniques for joining wires and finishing your sculptures. By the end, you'll have the skills to bring your wire creations to life with confidence.
