Memoir & Life Writing Workshop
Learn how to write a memoir with our writing short courses in Sydney!
Put simply, life experience, combined with a desire to write, qualifies you to tell your own story. Our experiences shape us and inform our world view, and nobody navigates life without struggle. Our personal circumstances, our observations of the world, and our personalities make us all unique individuals, and therefore the narratives of our lives are just as unique.
We will read, discuss and be inspired by excerpts from exemplary life-writing texts. With in-class writing exercises, we will focus on aspects of memoir writing and you will have the opportunity to share your work in a confidential and nurturing environment.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this creative writing course, you should be able to:
- Draw on newly acquired knowledge and skills to continue on your writing journey independently
- Generate new writing ideas with increased confidence in experimenting with alternate forms
- Apply detail and drama to bring your writing to life
- Identify avenues of print and publication available in Australia.

Brooke said: The course content and Keith were both fantastic- it honestly exceeded my expectations and I came away with so much information to apply more focus, creativity and technique to my writing. My only small piece of feedback would be that the second half of the day was quite information heavy and felt a little rushed, as opposed to the first half which was much more conversational and anecdotal. All the content was excellent and even though some of what we covered after lunch we'd already briefly touched on, it felt like we were rushing through the slides. But a very small thing to mention for what overall was an excellent course and I'm so glad I attended.
