Course description

Learn Cyber Safety, Online Shopping, and Online Banking with our free Tech Savvy Seniors courses in Sydney!

It’s one thing to go online to read the latest news or watch a video. It is quite another to do your banking and shopping. Just as traditional ways of transacting have benefits and risks, so too transacting online has many benefits and potential risks. These are easy to avoid when you know how. Pay bills, transfer money locally or internationally, purchase groceries, books, restaurant meals and have them delivered to your door. Plan and book your travel arrangements online.

In this cybersafety, online shopping & online banking course, you will learn how to do these things confidently and safely. Learn how popular shopping sites work, how to quickly compare products and find bargains, how to make payments over the internet safely, how to use the many convenient features that online banking offers.

What safety features do the online banking and shopping sites offer? How do I set up regular bill payments through my bank? What’s the difference between B-Pay, EFT, PayPal, and credit card payments? How do I tell if a dealer is genuine or a scammer? The experienced tutor uses simple relatable language and you will do simple exercises that will build your confidence.
