HTML and CSS set the foundation for an understanding of web development. HTML defines the structure of a page, while CSS defines its style. Whether you're thinking about building a website, you're a web designer looking to understand more about the underlying code, or you're looking to add to your skillset and begin your journey to new employment opportunities, then this introductory bootcamp should be your first port of call.

This one-day HTML course is a hard and fast introduction to HTML and CSS which will help form the basis for further learning in the world of web development and coding. This coding course offers practical hands-on exercises that students can follow along to as well as valuable presentations on the underlying principles, no prior experience is needed!

Afternoon session (3hrs)

  • Responsive design principles (Presentation)
  • Web Page Layout/Structure (Code-along activity)
  • Web Page Design (Code-along activity)
  • Unordered List Menu (Code-along activity)
  • jQuery for mobile menu systems (Code-along activity)

Intended audience

Who is this HTML/CSS course for?

This is an introductory level HTML/CSS Course so, no prior knowledge, experience or exposure to HTML/CSS code is required. Students should, however, be confident internet users with basic computer skills. Before attending this workshop please ensure that you
have installed:

  1. Brackets – open-source code editor
  2. Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome web browser
