Learn linocut printmaking as part of our Visual Arts and Handcrafts courses in Sydney.
Explore the creative potential of layered lino printing in this hands-on intermediate workshop focused on vibrant, multi-colour work.
You’ll learn how to design, carve, and print using the multi-block technique – a printmaking method that uses separate plates for each colour to achieve rich, layered compositions with precise alignment and bold visual impact.
The workshop covers essential skills for multi-colour printing, including accurate registration, clean layering, and thoughtful colour planning. There will be plenty of opportunity to refine your carving and printing techniques while producing a small edition of striking, three-colour lino prints.
This class is open to all, though prior experience with lino tools and single-colour printing is recommended.
By the end of the workshop, participants will:
- Learn the fundamentals of working with coloured inks in linocut printmaking.
- Develop your skills in multi-colour and multi-plate printing techniques.
- Build on the linocutting techniques introduced in the beginner’s workshop.
- Receive constructive feedback to help refine and improve your printmaking.
