Are you developing your team’s capacity to manage pressure, maintain focus and work together effectively? Are your staff training initiatives addressing wellbeing, engagement and psychological safety as well as technical skills?
Wellbeing through Making: Art for Calm and Resilience is a professionally facilitated half-day workshop designed to support team development, staff wellbeing and sustainable workplace performance. It offers organisations a practical, evidence-informed training experience that strengthens focus, regulation, collaboration and trust.
In today’s workplace, ongoing change, high workloads and constant digital engagement can place significant strain on staff. This workshop provides teams with an opportunity to pause, reset and reconnect through structured, hands-on creative practice. Creativity is used as a tool for regulation and reflection, not performance, making the experience accessible and inclusive for a wide range of roles and personalities.
Delivered by a PACFA-registered clinical counsellor with extensive experience across corporate, tertiary and community settings, the workshop is grounded in trauma-aware, nervous-system-informed practice. Activities are carefully designed to support psychological safety, choice-based participation and respectful group engagement.
This is not an art class and no creative experience is required. Participants are guided through simple, analogue, tactile making processes that support calm attention and emotional steadiness. The emphasis is on process rather than output, removing pressure, comparison and performance anxiety — an approach aligned with best practice in inclusive staff training and wellbeing programs.
A key outcome of this workshop is strengthened team cohesion. In many workplace groups, colleagues discover new and more meaningful ways of seeing one another through shared creative reflection. The art-making process acts as a gentle conduit for insight, often leading to increased trust, openness and connection within teams. These experiences directly support collaboration, communication and psychological safety at work.
While not a therapy session, the workshop offers clear wellbeing benefits. Participants develop a shared understanding of how stress affects focus, behaviour and decision-making, and they learn practical strategies that can be applied during the workday to support regulation, clarity and resilience.
For HR and training managers, this workshop can be positioned as staff training, team development, leadership support or part of broader organisational wellbeing initiatives. It aligns with objectives related to staff engagement, retention, burnout prevention, change management and healthier workplace culture.
