Stitch an Embroidered Christmas Stocking Workshop

SECS_1

Stitch and embroider your own personalised Christmas stocking with our handcrafts short courses in Sydney!

Add a touch of handmade charm to your festive season in this joyful sewing and embroidery workshop.

In this hands-on class, you’ll create a beautifully lined, personalised Christmas stocking – a keepsake to treasure for years to come. With your tutor’s guidance, you’ll combine simple sewing and embroidery techniques to design, stitch, and assemble a festive stocking that reflects your individual style.

You’ll begin by cutting and preparing your fabrics, learning how to choose complementary outer and lining materials that work beautifully together. Then, you’ll explore basic embroidery techniques to personalise your stocking with your name or a festive message, stitching your words onto a soft, felted fabric. Using the sewing machine, you’ll assemble your stocking, add a contrasting cuff and hanging loop, and finish it off with optional decorative details such as an appliqué motif or a small bell.

Whether you’re new to sewing or an experienced maker, this relaxed workshop is a chance to slow down, enjoy the process, and make something special by hand. You’ll leave with a beautifully finished, fully lined Christmas stocking – a handmade heirloom to treasure or a heartfelt gift for someone you love.

Below is an example of what you’ll make in class, lovingly stitched by your tutor:
