Learn to craft beaded jewellery with our jewellery short courses in Sydney.
The Beaded Jewellery course is for anyone interested in designing and producing their own custom made jewellery. You can make it for yourself or create a range to sell!
Beaded jewellery makes the perfect gift for family members and friends and is easy to make at home. This beaded jewellery course covers many techniques from design, stringing and finishing, then combining those skills to make many different styles, including strand necklaces, charm bracelets, chandelier earrings, and more.
You will learn occupational health and safety relating to making beaded jewellery, tools and how to use them, types of materials to use and design principles.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this beaded jewellery course, you should be able to:
- Understand occupational health and safety with beading
- Use basic hand tools such as pliers
- Practise a variety of beading/threading techniques with an array of materials such as crimps and various stringing techniques
- Understand basic terminology for bead styles and techniques
- Explore and use basic design principles, using this to prepare and develop your designs
- Recall knowledge of suppliers, materials and jewellery tool outlets
Course content
What will be covered in this beaded jewellery course?
You will learn to design and make:
- A pair of simple earrings
- A pair of 'chandelier' style earrings, using beads, chain and wire
- A single strand necklace and bracelet using tiger tail and crimps
- A bracelet using chains, beads and charms to form a fashionable piece of jewellery

Course materials
What to bring to class
- Any glass beads or materials you have at home
- Tools that you wish to use
- Take-away container to take the pieces home
Materials provided
- All equipment and tools
- Beads, strings, wires and findings
While basic colours and sizes of beads are provided, students may want to bring in or purchase from the tutor specialist beads and/or other materials depending on their designs.
