Acting & Drama Kids: Holiday Workshop (Marrickville)

Learn to create, imagine, and perform in our Kids Holiday Drama Workshop part of our Acting short course program in Sydney.
This exciting five-day holiday workshop is designed to give kids a fun, creative, and confidence-building experience. Through drama games, improvisation, and storytelling, children will explore their imaginations, learn to express themselves, and develop teamwork skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Throughout the week, students will collaborate to create an original play, design and make props and costumes, and bring their characters to life. On the final day, family and friends are invited to watch the performance a celebration of the children’s creativity and hard work.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this holiday workshop, students should be able to:
- Work collaboratively as part of a creative team.
- Use improvisation and storytelling to create characters and scenes.
- Develop confidence speaking and performing in front of an audience.
- Apply basic stagecraft techniques.
- Participate in prop and costume creation to enhance performance.
Course content
What will be covered in this workshop?
Day 1–2
- Drama games and improvisation activities.
- Building confidence and trust in a group.
- Exploring characters and story ideas.
Day 3–4
- Creating scripts and scenes.
- Prop and costume making.
- Rehearsal of the original play.
Day 5 - Performance night
- Final rehearsals.
- Performance for family and friends in the theatre.
Intended audience
Who is this monologue course for?
- This workshop is for children in Kindergarten to Year 6 who enjoy creative play, acting, and working with others. No previous drama experience is required.

What to bring to class
- Children are to wear comfortable clothing, bring a hat for break times, a packed lunch for recess and a water bottle.
