Anyone can learn how to draw, and our online Drawing for Beginners course will show you how!
If you're an absolute beginner - or a bit of a doodler who wants to sharpen your pencil skills - this course is an opportunity to learn with a small group in a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Learn over 3 Zoom sessions, with exercises, demonstrations and discussion throughout, as you gain an understanding of the basics including line, tone, perspective and proportion.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the drawing for beginners course, you should have:
- Learned how to observe objects for drawing
- Practised hand-eye co-ordination
- An understanding of form and structure to simplify your drawings
- Developed practical knowledge of different drawing techniques
- Produced a range of drawings with pencil and/or charcoal
- Learned to create harmony and contrast in your drawings

This course is designed for beginners and students with some drawing experience.

Option 1:
Purchase the basic materials kit at enrolment checkout - make sure we have your current address and allow at least 5 working days for delivery.
Option 2:
Uncheck the materials kit at enrolment checkout and bring your own. Here's what you'll need:
- Willow charcoal, thick (approx 3 pieces)
- solid graphite pencil, 6B
- drawing pencils, 2B and 4B
- soft white eraser and kneadable eraser
- pencil sharpener
- a sketchpad, A4 or A3
