About Lydia O'Connor
With over 15 years of experience in mental health and community services, including 5 years in senior leadership roles within mental health organisations, Lydia brings a deep commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed, and culturally safe practice. She is a PACFA Registered Counsellor and an Accredited Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Facilitator, combining therapeutic expertise with practical skills in training and capacity-building. Over the past 3 years, she has trained more than 500 people in MHFA and is passionate about teaching mental health to others.
Lydia’s leadership spans mental health therapeutic supports, homelessness, suicide prevention, youth mental health, and the NDIS. She has driven operational excellence, staff development, and compliance oversight, offering a well-rounded background that includes frontline support work, policy implementation, and strategic service delivery—always grounded in ethical, responsive, and inclusive care.
