About Lydia O'Connor
With over 15 years of experience in mental health and community services, including 5 years in senior leadership roles within mental health organisations, Lydia brings a deep commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed, and culturally safe practice. A PACFA Registered Counsellor and an Accredited Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Facilitator, Lydia combines therapeutic expertise with practical skills in training and capacity-building. Over the past 3 years, she has trained more than 500 people in MHFA and is passionate about educating others in mental health.
Her leadership spans mental health therapeutic supports, homelessness, suicide prevention, youth mental health, and the NDIS. She has driven operational excellence, staff development, and compliance oversight. With a well-rounded background that includes frontline support work, policy implementation, and strategic service delivery, Lydia consistently upholds ethical, responsive, and inclusive care.
