Act I is all about taking the leap into performance. In a supportive and encouraging environment, you’ll build confidence, overcome fear and self-doubt, and develop trust with your fellow students. Through improvisation, group exercises, and scene work, you’ll explore your creativity while learning the fundamentals of acting.
Throughout the course, you’ll discover how to connect authentically with a scene partner, develop your voice and movement skills, and understand the foundations of character building. As the weeks progress, you’ll rehearse a scripted scene, applying essential acting techniques to bring your character to life on stage.
In the final week, you’ll perform your scene with a partner for an invited audience of family, friends, and fellow students, a celebratory showcase of your growth, courage, and performance skills.
