Continue developing and refining your drawing and painting skills in our Drawing & Painting Course: Continuers. This course is designed as a follow-on from the Drawing & Painting Introduction course, providing a solid foundation in working from observation in drawing and acrylic painting. 

Overall, the continuers class aims to further develop students' technical skills, creativity, critical thinking abilities, and artistic vision. It provides a platform for them to refine their style, experiment with different techniques and, gain the confidence and expertise to pursue more challenging artistic endeavours as they complete their individual artworks. 

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course, you will have explored concepts and techniques such as:

  • Refine and expand your drawing and acrylic painting skills through observation-based projects.
  • Explore and experiment with a wider range of painting techniques to develop your personal style.
  • Strengthen creativity, critical thinking, and artistic decision-making in your work.
  • Develop confidence in planning and completing individual drawing and painting projects.
  • Build the skills and expertise needed to tackle more challenging artistic endeavours.

Course content

During the course, participants will work with techniques and ideas such as:

  • Review and refinement of current projects
  • Expand acrylic painting techniques
  • Individual project development

The learning will be experienced step by step, with an emphasis from the tutor on meeting the learning needs of every individual. You will be informed and encouraged every step of the way.

Intended audience

This Drawing & Painting Course: Continuers is suitable for students who have either attended our 8-week Drawing & Painting Introduction course or possess similar experience in drawing and painting.

  • Incomplete artwork from Drawing & Painting Course: Introduction  
  • Sketchpad
  • 2B pencil
  • Your tutor will advise you if any other materials are needed throughout the course

We provide acrylic paints, brushes, plus one sheet of canvas paper per session.

  • Closed-in shoes required
  • Please wear old clothes
  • Long hair must be tied back
  • Content may vary slightly depending on class pace, participant interests, and instructor approach.
